does spelling matter?

With spell check and smart texting where the words get finished for you when you're typing them in, the ability to be a good speller doesn't matter as much as it used to. Or does it? A typo in your resume reflects badly on your attention to detail. A misspelling in an advertisement diminishes your credibility. A wrongly-spelled word in a letter just makes you look dumb or careless. So use spell check. Proofread carefully. Look up a word you're not sure about. Have someone else read important documents before you send them.

And by the way--"stationary" is when something is not moving. The stuff you write on is called "stationery" with an "e".
