is social media lonely?
I was talking to a friend yesterday about twitter and what uses it could have for a business and she commented about how it would be useful for friends we don't see so often to keep in touch by following each other on twitter. But then she added, "I could be on MySpace and Facebook and LinkedIn and twitter and never have to talk to anyone ever again." Some days, we thought, that would be appealing. Then I read in Forbes magazine that Seth Godin (famed marketing guru) says he typically works alone and admits that he gets lonely. As far as social media and blogging go he must have millions of followers who read and react to his every word. He's a king in using social media. But he "gets lonely"? What does that mean for the future of the social media that seems so powerful right now?
